Is our brooder box too small?

Hey everyone,
So our quail are about a week and a half old now and have more than doubled in size. Looking down the line I'm a little worried about our brooder box being too small for them when they grow larger. The box is about 1.75ft x 1ft x 1ft. Would you recommend that we move up to a bigger box, and if so what would be the ideal size for 6 quail?
Thanks

I moved mine as needed. They started out in a square insulated box. Then a larger rectangular box, then added another same size box, and finally they are now in an Xl dog crate until the weather is better for them to go outside.

I’m finding the box needs to keep getting bigger. I have 10 at 3 weeks now. Keeping an eye out for a large dog crate or maybe a kiddie pool with wire fencing?

I had this problem too, i brought the biggest plastic tub i could find cheaply and they still out grew it so I've split them up into 2 bins now 7 in old smaller one and 12 in new bigger one. Have 19 at 3 weeks old.

Thanks for all of the input everyone! I think I'll try find a bigger plastic tub since we're thinking of picking up more chicks eventually, and probably more than we have currently.

Found a large soft sided dog crate in my basement lol. Should hold them for a few more weeks till they can go outside I hope? Going to be a pain to clean probably. But the air circulation is excellent. I’m looking at 70% males tho (i think?) so I’m ready to separate any problem birds if needed. Maybe the girls can have their own brooder when I’m certain which are girls for sure.

You could try using a puppy play pen. I have two I use, they are about 45" in diameter and have mesh sides and top for breathability. I move my chicks in there after they get feathers and no longer need the heat lamp.

That’s a good idea! I think I’ve got another week or so before I’ll take the heat away. They’re only 3.5 weeks old.
