We have too many roos...(we were and still are chicken newbies and didn't know and got the roos first).
We have two roos and two pullets at the moment. We plan to for sure get more hens (pullets). We also plan to either separate or get rid of one of the roos (our 9-year old son has named the bully one...even though it seems the roo is getting a little better).
Anyway, the dominant (alpha) roo (even though his ego has been brought down a little by my hubby) does his little side-step dance to the other roo and is about to mount him! LOL Then, the other roo flaps his wings a little and gets away.
For now, the pullets sometimes stay away, but when I bring treats they come down and all seem to get along. I'm not sure what's going on.
For reference, we are brand new to owning chickens...today is a week on the roos and tomorrow is a week on the hens/pullets.
