IS OUR ROOSTER SICK?

Recently, I've noticed our rooster acting really odd, he just sits in the same spot for extended periods of time- at first I thought it was just the heat, but today he basically didn't move the whole day. He is also quite shy and doesn't like being picked up, but today whenever I approached him he didn't move or protest at being held.
We got him of some people, who already had a rooster, and they didn't take very good care of him, resulting in a bad case of scaly mite (we treated it the best we could), so I'm not sure if maybe that has anything to do with it?
anyway, I was wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or knows what is wrong and how to cure it?

Your photo didn't post. But, yes, your rooster is definitely behaving as if he doesn't feel well.

How did you treat the leg mites? Some cases are more serious than others and require continuing attention. Soaking in warm Epsom salt and then dipping legs and feet in castor oil helps to both smother the mites and to heal the scales. You may need to repeat it often for a few weeks.

Your rooster may be suffering from any of a long list of avian diseases. Viruses and toxins and crop issues can all make a rooster sick. It's hard to diagnose without more information about how old the rooster is, where he free ranges, what he eats, how hot is it, what his crop feels like in the morning, and if you've examined him for mites. Just for starters.
