Is raising turkeys like raising meat birds?

I was thinking about raising turkeys this summer, and was wondering if it is anything like raising meat birds. Every year we get 150 to 200 meat chickens for profit, and I thought turkeys could be another type of poultry I would like to try out. Anyways, just wondering if it is anything like raising meat chickens.

Raising broad-breasted turkeys is a lot like raising really big cornish crosses. The turkeys will be a little more active than the chickens, but they eat a lot and get big and heavy and are not very graceful. Raising heritage turkeys is entirely different. Well, methods aren't so different but results are. They eat less and are very active and graceful birds.
