I'm reading this book right now, about 2/3 of the way through it. I am loving this book, I tell you! It is so interesting. Anyone else read/love this book? Any books you recommend?

I like all different genres of books. I used to read a lot of romance when younger but fantasy (such as lord of the rings) has become one of my favorites. I also love the Stephanie Plum series by Janet Evanovich (Comedy/mystery). Lonesome Dove was a favorite also...

I would think that it's a wonderful hobby. I also love to read, and have read the book you are talking about. It was very detailed, and sad. It's said that many Americans who did not realize this was happening were made aware by this book.

That genre is out of the norm for me. I tend to lean towards Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Robin Cook, and Robert R. Mccammon.

I do not & will not read one of those Harliquin Romances.

lol, I read one of those once and yeah, might as well be reading porn books LOL. The good romances, though, can be really interesting. I enjoyed historical romances by LaVyrle Spencer mostly and she did quite a bit of research when writing her stories. It's an interesting way to learn history with a bit of a story line with it... kinda like how Titanic is, I guess.

I read anything except westerns, so check out BOOKMOOCH.COM AND SWAPTREE.COM. both of these are great sites to trade books. You list what you want to trade and list what books you want to read. when the computer matches up you just mail it out. I think the most I have paid for postage is $2.77 for a new tess gerrigson book I had read and didn'twant to keep. the great thing with these sites is you can keep the book or trade it back to someone else. marrie

I read the Little House series, Chronicles of Narnia and the Harry Potter series over and over and over again.
at least 3 times a year. I also LOVE true crime books about serial killers...it's an odd combination but that's just me

Of course it's a hobby! I love reading and love reading the Grapes of Wrath over and over. I have a small library of classics from Michener, Any Rand, Mary Stewart, Kipling, Jack London, James Fenimore Cooper and John Steinbeck to name a few.

to read ! I'll read anything but Danielle Steele. Steinbeck has many great novels,
East of Eden
Grapes of Wrath,
Of mice and men (should be a must read)
Cannery Row

I could go on, but I'll spare ya, so you can go back to reading a great book. Right now I am reading Merle's Door by Ted Kerasote and I am loving it.

Thanks for the heads up Sundance on the trading sites. I'll go check em out.

Happy Reading

Sat out in the coop surrounded by chickens and read the last few chapters! Awesome book. Of all books kids are made to read in school, this one seems most relevant. They should make all HS kids read this!

I read Tortilla Flat last month and wasn't impressed, but it's one of his earlier books so I didn't let it prejudice me. I'm glad I picked up The Grapes of Wrath!

I also love reading. Harry Potter series, Jean Auel, Clive Cussler, Steve Alten, How-to, Mary Stewart, Emily Loring (early romance author, very clean reading, they're lucky if they hold hands, but they take place right before World War II until about 1960. The author passed away about 1980.)
