Is retired hen meat any good?

Just wondering if the meat is any good at the age their retired?
 
Yes it is great meat, cover it and cook it with moist heat. And uncover it at the end of baking to crisp it up. Now fried it would be tough, but slow roasted it is very good and tasty.
