My friend emailed me today asking if I would take her lonely hen Rosie that lost all of her chicken friends recently. She also said she has never gotten a single egg from Rosie. Then she sent me this picture..I think I know why Rosie has never laid....

Also, what breed do you think she/he is?

Thanks!!

Looks like a roo to me! BTW, why did she lose all her other chickens? Make sure you isolate if you take him, in case there is some disease.

I thought he was a roo too! They just dissapeared..they dont have a run and only a shed that they dont close at night for a coop. I'm assuming it was a predator.

Brown Leghorn HEN, and going by that comb she should be in full production! If she is free range that would be why they haven't gotten any eggs from this beauty. Leghorns(mine anyway) are notorious for squirrling them away in some secred well hidden spot.

she is so pretty and I agree, it's a brown leghorn hen, she will lay a white egg, maybe she is hiding her eggs really well

I think the Mystery is solved! Now we can adopt her!! (Already have 2 roo's) Thank you chicken friends for spreading your knowledge
