My pullet Flossie is about 26 weeks old. She has always had a weepy eye that I can't seem to resolve with antibiotics, warm water or eye drops. She is not not very friendly and is not the smartest or most coordinated cookie in the coop to be sure.
I've never been able to prove that she is laying until today, but she has been messing up the laying schedule for the rest of the hens by trying to get into the nest boxes with them. Lately, I've seen some strange eggs laid from the roost. Today I actually caught her laying in the nest box. "Yay!", I thought... But then I saw the egg. :-(
Have you ever seen an egg like this? It's not round. When I cracked it the shell was very thin, the white was separated and there was a strange seed thing floating in it. They have organic layer with calcium and have oyster shell available.
What would you do?
