Is she a lady or a gentleman?

I think people are seeing the darker lacing on the feathers and not the tips of the feathers themself. I think it looks like a female, as I do not see male hackles or saddle feathers.
 
Maybe I need glasses, because I definitely see some pointy hackles and saddles.

I agree with Dustin Biery. I believe the darker red lacing makes the feathers look pointy. I have three production reds. You could definitely tell the Rooster by 5 weeks old. He was huge and had a red comb. The other two were still yellow and smaller. My hens have red lacing that makes the hackles look pointy. In fact they are kind of pointy anyway. I know mine are hens and I believe, so is this one.

You will soon find out if he starts laying eggs. I think it's a hen.....males are bigger then females and more attractive. But does look young
