Quote:
The pointed saddle feathers come over time, I have a cockerel who started out with rounded saddle feathers but is now growing pointed ones over them.

I have to concur with poster...I had a "pullet" who was slow to develop, now my dominant roo! He is now 13 weeks...started crowing at 8...keep us posted!

That's an aweful lot of comb development for an 8 week old. I know you want a pullet, but that's the kind of comb you usually see on an 18 week old girl.

I say roo

At 8 weeks old with that big of scarlet comb already... 1,000% rooster!

Normally roosters will get saddle feathers between 3-4 months old. You'll know for sure then.

I am thinking a roos cuz i have ss too, and my hens dont even have much color in their cobs yet and they are 18weeks and cuz of how much cob i think you got a roos

I'm saying 100% rooster on that one!! I have Speckled Sussex too & mine are 10 weeks old now & none of mine have such a bright or defined comb like that. Keep us posted
