I don't know that she is a full buff orpington but I know she is at least part. Here is a photo of her at 4-6 weeks and one of her today. They were born around end of February so she is at LEAST 10 weeks old. She has the redness around the face but no growth. I have a white silkie who is the same age and already has a comb/wattle and is for sure a roo. Please check out this pic and give me your opinion on gender. Crossing my fingers she is really a she.. I only have 4 and I want to get an egg eventually. They are just pets though.

and to be honest I don't think that picture does her justice since she was standing tall and alert that evening.. Here is another photo of the girls and/or boys..

It's a female and most definitely not a pure bo. if you are sure about her being part bo, then bo x ee cross.

she has a beard, pea comb, green legs and possibly some very sparse leg feathering... none are bo traits.

Cool Thanks for the pic of yours. I knew she was something mixed but just wasn't sure what. The lady who I got her from had a batch of oopsies as she normally only sells pure breed chickens/eggs. She raises Orpingtons, and RIR among others so it is highly likely she has RIR or something in her. I'm glad to hear she looks like a hen though which is all that counts. I saw in your signature that you have a chihuahua.. I do too. His name is Link. At first he chased around the chickens but now he follows them around and eats their droppings. Has yours ever done that.. it is SO gross! lol

Actually no. I'm not 100 percent sure if she's mixed with bo. When I got her she kind of just hopped in the carrier with everyone and so did the black cochin. I assumed because of color she was in part bo but I don't know anything about breeds other than what I have learned. What is an ee?

our little shivers eats anything. yes anything! and i think Kev is right about having a Easter egger. I didn't see the legs and beard. But if your looking for nice hens that lay good ee's are great. they are my #1 layers, averaging 13 eggs in 14 days, and large green and blue eggs.

EE stands for Easter Egger, a mix breed chicken that carries the blue egglaying gene. She looks like an EE to me also, I can see muffs. I'm not seeing any BO in there.

EE=Easter Egger Easter Egger=Ameraucana Chicken+who knows what breed=Easter Egger. Easter Eggers can lay brown, white, green, or blue eggs. (A hen will only lay one color her entire life though)

Cool! I just looked up the Ameracauna chickens and she looks ALOT like the buff colored one. http://www.mypetchicken.com/chicken-breeds/Ameraucana-B5.aspx in this photo. She is still young but I bet as she gets older she will feather out around the neck like in the picture. You guys are REALLY good with these breeds and such.. lol. The person I got the chickens from showed me a photo of all the many colors of eggs she gets and there are tons of green, blues, and pinks which she said she gets from her easter-eggers. I wonder if she is just strictly an EE then and not mixed with anything?
