Is she an Ameraucana?

The center hen is quite a bit heftier than her batch mates only slightly bigger looking. She has no cheek feathers. She’s also so much less flighty than the other Ameraucanas. She’s pretty much our only shoulder chicken Is she a different breed from the others?

They’re Easter Eggers, a blended breed of chicken that is based off the Ameraucana, so they’re not purebred and coukd have lots of different things in their history. That’s why she is a little different than the others!

Well that just made my day! Although I guess the egg color is up in the air still. I haven’t ever seen her lay and all the eggs so far are minty green not blue. Maybe I need to look at them again and compare colors.

So all are Easter Eggers! Interesting. How are they different from ameraucanas? I’m wondering how easy it is to tell.

Our rooster is a golden laced Wyandotte so I wonder how their babies will look!
