I ordered a silver laced Wyandotte from Cackle three weeks ago. I posted in a Silver Laced Wyandotte FB group, and the admin said, "that's not a silver laced wyandotte." Now I'm worried. Opinions?

Lacing is one of the hardest traits to get nice and uniform. 3 weeks is pretty young to determine much - they go through several juvenile molts. If you were a breeder going for excellent lacing, likely this one would not make an early cut.

Can we see the legs, bc color of the legs helps to determine breed. Also, a good pic go the comb. If possible, getting a pic while the chick is standing and from the side will also help us to see stance and body shape. All these things help with breed ID of a young chick.

We have a 4yo SLW with terrible lacing. She is clearly a SLW, but not a good example of the beautiful lacing that can be had. She still lays for us and acts as an excellent and opinionated biddy that helps to train our young chicks up right - through proper pecking order and reprimands.

It's a Wyandotte, the juvenile plumage will go away, & should reveal a lacing pattern. It may end up not being the best lacing, but should still look pretty.
