is she ready

I have this leghorn that I think is ready to lay. Is she?

I would need a picture of the vent it should be pale I believe and should be around 18 weeks old and is starting to sit in the nesting box but may not lay anything or she could be practicing if she sits on another ones eggs

ok then yes pretty soon her first egg will come you just have to be patient.

Have you checked her pubic bone. If you pick her up under your arm have her facing backwards. Find her vent and feel for the bone that runs around the vent to the bottom. The wider the spec between the bones the closer she is to laying if she's not close you'll only be able to lay 1 finger inbetween them 3 fingers and your very close
