Hi hi hi! What’s up? So I have this bird she a female probably younger than 1 year and she a grey Francolin also known as teetar, she’s been quite lazy and weak these days and she keeps hiding in my arms and I think she’s feeling cold, she’s all huddled up and her feathers are all poofy too, her poop is clear liquid with and pieces of poop in it, I think she’s just cold because of the weather changing but I’m really worried because I lost another one last month because of similar symptoms, I can’t take her to a vet because where I live (pakistan) not even one vet I’ve searched for all over the city checks birds because 1. Technology for animals is not advanced 2. Birds can die very easily and 3. Every vet clinic doesn’t accept birds or just reject us saying they don’t check birds so this is my last option and if this doesn’t work either then all I can do is keep her warm, fed and pray she gets better

Does she lay eggs? Is her crop emptying overnight? Can you get any drug for treatment of coccidiosis, such as amprollium, toltrazuril, or sulfadimethoxine, or other sulfa antibiotics? It could another type of intestinal infection, but hard to know without a vet or testing. I would try to coax her to eat and drink with chicken feed, egg, and a spoonful of yogurt. Does she have any watery or bubbly eye or drainage from her nostrils or beak?

She’s doesn’t lay eggs, and she is eating and drinking by her self, she doesn’t have watery/bubbly eye or drainage from her nostrils or beak, I can try getting a either one of those drugs tho I’ll have to wait for my father to come home up till now the only signs she has shown are signs of weakness, not running around or walking that much just tries her best to stay warm, I’m using hot water bottles to keep her warm at the moment, should I try feeding her a raw egg or the shells? Should I mix the chicken feed with the yogurt or give it to her seperatley, wouldn’t yogurt make her feel worse since shes alr feeling cold?

What is coccidiosis btw?

Oh ok and could you tell me the symptoms too? If there are any
Bloody feces are a big indicator, as well as just not acting like they feel well. Huddling, ruffled feathers, pale comp, and loss of appetite. The only way to know for sure though is to take a fecal sample to the vet. Sorry for the late response! I’m sure you are worried

Well she doesn’t have bloody feces, her feces are a bit watery but other than that they’re ok, she has been eating and drinking, I used hot water bottles to keep her warm and she’s better now, I just came home from school so I’ll check on her once more, I think she might’ve just caught a cold(?) because they were out on the terrace and since the others are fine it probably means that whatever she has doesn’t spread to others, I wish I could take her to a vet but they none of the vets check birds in my city 😕
