I have 5 SS that will be 1 year old in 2 weeks. They are all laying almost daily. Mabel will tuck all the eggs under her and sit on them until I pull them out from under her. She doesn't object to me taking the eggs and as soon as the eggs are gone she hops out of the nest and goes back out side. She has only been doing this for the last 2 days. We don't have a roo and I collect eggs everyday. So the poor thing has no chance at being a mama. Does it sound like she is starting to go broody? If so about how long will this last?

That's one sign but not a real good one. I think I would wait for a few more, like walking around and puffing up, or grumpy, before worrying about her going broody. It will last until she breaks brood or has chicks. So no set amout of time.
