Is sliced ham a good fox bait?

I'm testing my new coop to see where predators will enter. I took my chickens out and baited it with sliced ham. Will this be effective? If not what is the best bait for foxes and or raccoons?

My dad says tuna fish. That's what I have in my trap right now, but so far, I've only caught a cat...

Tuna, sardines and the like will work for coons, skunks, possums, etc. For fox, I use muskrat. Coyotes and fox can't seem to stay away from it. Keep in mind that both of them will avoid anything freezer burnt, or rotted. Fresh is best!! I also use an attractant scent when trapping the critters. One that targets the animal I'm after.

Sliced ham will catch me, unsure about a fox.

The problem with coops is that the chickens inside provide a scent, visual, hearing, taste, motion as well as panic feed back to the predator. All of which spells dinner to a varmint like a fox.

I have never personally used it, but if they've "aquired" the taste for it, it should work.
