Is soil or peanut husks good bedding?

Hi. I am wondering if (1) peanut husks would be good for bedding and (2) would soil be good. thanks!

Peanut husks would just get in the way in my opinion...won't really absorb anything and are bulky.

Now if they are ground up a bit, that's different...but would they be sharp???

I prefer sand for bedding. I use a plastic rake and a kitty litter scoop. See this thread:
