Is someone getting too rough?

I have a flock of chickens consisting of 6 black stars, 2 silver laced wyndotts, and four Red ones (think they are RIR) and two roosters a banty silky and a mutt. In the last week we have noticed one chicken whos back end lookes broken or out of place, one who clacks when she eats, two that have bald dpots on there heads we asume from packing and one of the chickens broke there neck (we thought was an accident) I noticed our rooster is really mean to some of the girls. He won't let certin ones eat (were pullingthem out and letting them be caged while they regain weight) theirs also a queen chicken who is mean to any other chicken and then theres randy roo who mounts any hen that gets close to him. I don't know if these are just regular chicken problems or if one of the dominant chicken/roo's are just getting too rough. Crystal

Geesh, it sounds like he's too rough! The bald spots on the head are from the rooster (he is holding their head while he mates, which is normal) but it sounds like the others are really getting picked on. I have heard of abusive roos... Maybe someone who has had one can tell you what the warning signs are.

If your hens are loosing feathers, I'd take out one of the roosters or let them have a larger area to free range so the hens can run away from the abusive ones.

When I had two roos with 12 hens, they all started loosing their feathers, took out the agressive one and there have been no problems.

Sounds like the question is solved, if the roo is being that mean. I think I would get rid of him. Which rooster is it that is being mean--the Silkie or the mutt? I would think the mutt.

If you do want to keep both roos, you can confine them separately and just let each run with the girls for one or two days a week.
Someone is not being a gentleman and shouldn't be allowed to continue his vicious ways!
