Is something wrong with my girl?

I have 4 chickens all are 15 weeks old. My Speckled Sussex though has started pooping water with green in it. It's probably about a tablespoon of water but clear. I noticed tonight too, the green part is very fibrous looking, almost like she's eating wood chips or something. She's eating normal and drinking normal. They're all inside still Friday. Any ideas on what could cause it?

Poop like that indicates over consumption of water to the detriment of nutrition. In other words, she's starving due to drinking too much water and not eating enough due to her crop feeling full of water.

Has it been very hot where you live? If so, I would suggest giving her a cup of water with one teaspoon sugar and a pinch of baking soda and salt stirred in. Have her drink it as her only water source today. You may need to confine her to accomplish this.

The other thing that can cause this kind of poop is a digestive obstruction, sort of like constipation. Do two things. Give her grit, either sand or very small gravel. You may buy it at the feed store or sift it from the soil. The second is coconut oil. Use the solid form and divide it into a tablespoon of pea size bits and freeze them. Slip one at a time into her beak. Try to get half into her now, and the rest in a couple of hours.

Keep watch on her poop. You should see results after several hours.

I will definitely try that. She does like to over indulge in feed and meal worms so that could very well be the problem. It has been very hot but we have them inside with controlled temp of 74. As far as grit, I buy the grit specifically for chickens.

Could be a few things going on. If it’s been super hot or she’s stressed, like from a change in routine or flock drama, that can mess with her droppings. She might also just be eating a lot of greens or grass lately, which could totally explain the green bits. But if it keeps up, it could be something deeper like worms or coccidiosis, parasites sometimes cause watery poop too. And yeah, infections (either bacterial or viral) can lead to diarrhea, especially if she’s acting low-energy, fluffed up, or not eating much.

What You Can Do:
Isolate her for observation (if possible) to track changes without flock interference.
Check her diet is she eating normally? Any new treats or free-range snacks?
Hydration is key make sure she has access to clean, cool water.
Inspect the rest of the flock for similar symptoms.
Consider bringing a sample to a vet for a quick parasite or infection check.
