is something wrong with my RIR???

I have 3 rir. One has feathered nicely, one is coming along but the other doesnt look good. Im very worried although he/she is acting fine. Whats up??? Is this ok???

How old? Chicks often feather a different rates. If they are older you may have feather picking going on.

Only 8 to 9 weeks...i just wanted to make sure it was healthy cause i was worried about the rest of the flock. The others are already feathered...i guess i should be more patient he is acting fine. Thank you!

I would check for mites and give her a good dusting of Diatomaceous Earth!

I'd guess that the one missing feathers is having them pecked by the other 2.

Part the feathers down to the skin to look for mites/lice before treating.
And read up on DE carefully before using, it's not the cure-all it's purported to be by so many.

I agree there is feather loss going on At 8 weeks they should have their feathers will have grown in.

I know im new at this but it doest seem right to me. I've looked her over and dont see any mites or lice. I spend alot of time with them and there isnt much pecking going on but i have seen some...what should i do??? Should i seperate him/her?

Just keep an eye on things....watch them go to roost in the evening, that's when I see pecking.
