I use a different waterer now but in my old brooder I built an elevated flat surface (plywood) and very carefully leveled it. That stopped the leaking from that type of waterer.
This photo is from my grow-out coop, not the brooder, but the idea is that it elevates the waterer a bit and they cannot turn it over. For the brooder I fill it with rocks so the chicks can "walk on water" and not drown. They will poop in it so I totally empty it daily.
