Is subzero metal an issue for chicken feet?

I would avoid foam as they will peck at it and eat it.

Yep, I learned that when I put up stick-on insulation, that was within their reach, and what I thought was out of their reach.

They immediately decided to redecorate, and pecked off the insulation. I pulled off as much as I could, hopefully they didn’t eat much…

Mine ate 3 feet of foam pipe insulation off a hose riser once. No one died, but it got redone and covered in gorilla tape. I recently had some eat some aluminum ducting tape, go figure. So far, no one is showing any ill effects. Honestly, no matter how hard you try, the tiny satans still find stuff.
