Is temp okay to set eggs now?

I have a Brinsea Octagon 20 with the auto turn. All seems to be working well. The glass thermometer has been reading steady at exactly 100 degrees for a day. I see in the instructions that ideal temp is between 99.3 and 99.6. How does the temp change when eggs are added? Is it okay for me to set my eggs now or should I try to keep getting the thermometer to read just a smidge under 100? I'm a first timer, first eggs, first anything. Of course I'm nervous! These eggs need to be set soon. I've been keeping them in a garage and turning them daily, but it's time to get them in the incubator.
I just need someone to say "Go!" or "Whoa!"
Thanks in advance!

Go ! And what a great time to do it. Good Friday ! If it holds steady you are in great shape. A chicken won`t stay on the nest all the time ,she has to eat and drink too. Me and My GQF 1200 has had a 96 percent hatch rate at 100 degrees. I`m suremy percentage will change after the power outage a couple days ago. mine dropped to 97 degrees off and on for 2 days.

Aw, you're right - I'm setting on Good Friday! Now I'm missing dying Easter Eggs with my daughter who is away at college this year and won't be making it home for Easter... Okay, setting eggs is a GREAT distraction. Thank you so much for the go ahead! I appreciate the "Go".

I found my temp went down when I first put in the eggs. From opening it and the eggs absorbing energy to meet the bater temp. So try not to adjust anything at first; let the temp balance out again.

Exactly. Once you set the eggs, don't even LOOK at it for at least 12 hours. And, while I have never used a Brinsea, it is my understanding that you are not to mess with them at all. Set it and forget it!

Thanks CLF. Got some precious cargo in there you know, so I want it to go well.

And thank you all for your input. Eggs are set. They seem secure. Cradle is rocking and the sun is shining. Time to take the dog for a walk and leave those eggs alone!
BYCer's are the best.
