My rings always get a few good pecks too. In fact, I use them to attract the chicks over to me. Hmmm...isn't that odd...chicks are attracted to jewels! Would that be the same things as "diamonds are a girls best friend"?

Mine do the same thing. I'm a natural red head and so I have loads of freckles on my arms. When I put my arm in the brooder, my chicks think my freckles are yummy bugs or something because they peck at them!!
