Is the beagle I adopted full blooded or a mix?

My husband raises Beagles and she is pure. One of our best hunters came from a stud that looks almost identical to her. Short nose, and all. And about the size...Beagles can be anywhere from 16 inches to 8 inches tall. They won't be show quality after 15 inches but they do happen. By the way the "freckles" are called ticking on a hound. It is possible she was going to be used for showing and she grew up to not be of conformation(Show quality). She has a short up-turned nose, and if she exceeds 15 inches tall that is an automatic disqualification. I will include some pics of our female Molly who is also a champion at hunting as well as in the show ring. In the second pic she is standing with one of her last pups. The last pic is of Sally, She is just 6months and is already competing in UKC trails and is working on her showmanship. She is in the workout pen in the pic and is howling at me to get her out. She wanted the rabbits in the pen across from where she was.

ETA: Molly is a ticked lemon and white and Sally is a blue ticked. Yours is a saddle back tri color with blue ticking. I'm not saying since my husband(and myself really) is a breeder/hunter I know everything about Beagles but I have been around him and the dogs long enough that I can spot show winners anywhere now. I love this breed.

I'm sure beagles have different traits across the country, but her mug looks a bit short with a broad head. I agree with your mom.
I once had a tri colored blond red & white name Tess. Just adopted a fat irritable excuse for a beagle, I call Buddy..

Correct once she is spayed she cannot be put in a show ring. Except maybe in a local fun show. She can still compete in UKC hunting trails and even in AKC Agility. Even without UKC or AKC registration.
Go check this page out if you are a first time Beagle owner.

It's true you can't show a spayed dog in confirmation classes, but there are lots of other events you can show her in. I had a lovely Tervruen rescue b*tch who's papers were destroyed by the shelter. You can get what is called an 'ILP' from AKC, and compete in agility, obedience, tracking, etc. You can still have lots of fun with her, even if she ends up being a couch beagle

I used to train beagles to hunt and still have friends that train and hunt them. Some of them stand like that because its bred into them
through genitics.Looking at her she appears to be a little older
than a dog who wouldnt/couldnt learn to hunt.So I am not thinking she was put out for that reason. The fact that she walks along side of your leg is a taught obedience traite called waking at HEEL and not hunting or instinctive traite,as a hound/hunting dogs nature is to search/hunt of wich is not to be with you however to roam searching/hunting for food.

I think she looks like a Prissy

She looks full blooded to me

Sure looks full blooded to me....but definitely not show quality. I can't imagine anyone was training her to show unless they had no idea what a show quality dog looks like. You can usually tell if they're going to be show quality when they are pups (and she has poor traits that would have been visible as a puppy)....so anyone actually serious about showing would never have started training her for it.
