Is the beagle I adopted full blooded or a mix?

Rooster Cogburn Jr. :

p.s. I know for a fact Weiner dogs are good at Yahtzee. And I also know Min Pins are terrible at Slug Bug. My Min Pin named Hot Rod rode with me in my semi and we played all over the country. He was terrible. I beat him about 625 to 3

i am not sure why your being wise? was my comment stupid? we have many strays come in that are beagles, just a few that didnt find there way home.

No it wasn't a stupid comment. I was just being silly. Alot of beagles get dumped because people get them as puppies cause they are so cute. And some people want them as house pets. They can be house trained but need extra patience and are alot harder to house break than most breeds. And then the bad owners don't take them time to work with them cause they are lazy or whatever. So then they dump them somewhere which makes them bad human beings too. My Grandparents have had outside beagles my whole life. One lived 13 years and one 11. Both loved to go off hunting and always came home. My neighbor has one that is 9 or 10 years old she is a house dog. But when they let her out she spends half the day in the woods chasing critters going "broooooooo......broooooooooo.......brooooo. and she always goes home. I've never once in the past 10 years received a call from them asking if we've seen their dog.

oh, i see, sorry then, carry on lol
i didnt actually mean a dog that is out hunting getting lost, i meant a hunting breed not being used for hunting wondering , like taking a hunting breed and expecting it to be a good apartment dog and not take off when it gets the chance.

Heres my Sadie, the guy who dropped her off at the ASPCA said she didnt hunt, the rabbits in my field would have a different opinion. She does come home from a hunt, probably because she knows where her food comes from. They are very scent and food driven. Mine knows how to open the fridge. Crate train her if you can, its so much easier. Mine hates the crate so we just have to take extra measures to keep her out of the garbage and the food.

And there are 2 different sizes of beagles, yours may be the larger but she definately looks all beagle to me. The term Pocket Beagle is an old one and is generally not used today. Heres 2 pages to look over

People definitely still use the term "pocket beagle" ...not sure what it used to be...but now its used to refer to dogs intentionally bred even smaller than 13" beagles

i just ment its not a prefered term used in professional breeding, its more or less considered different from a standard beagle
