Some of my hens definitely have bumblefoot. Some of those, and some of the others have scabs that are not round, but are formed along lines or on the edges of footpads that seem to be folded over. I will try to get photos tomorrow but wanted to ask if the scabs are always round?

Is a normal chicken footpad flat, or can it have wrinkles?

Mine usually show up as round, but I'm guessing that has to do mostly with the location of the bumble. Photos will definitely help- maybe age has to do with the shape of the foot pad- just like we get various callouses etc. on our feet? Hard to say without seeing.

Yes, pictures would help a lot. I think depending on where a bumble is forming, when it's small it might not look so round. As it got larger it would probably become more round, and the swelling and pressure from inside would tend to make them rounder.
Most of my birds foot pads are fairly smooth, but there are folds and wrinkles sometimes near the toes. Sometimes caked/hardened dirt and droppings can look scab-like, so a soaking and cleaning of the feet may make things clearer.
