Is the duck crop the same as a chicken crop?

It's amazing how much they change from pitiful to beautiful with your TLC. Your goose is beautiful and now she has a job. Mine love to be in charge of the Runners they are so much fun to watch. So wonderful you were able to rescue them and get them started on a healthy life. Be sure to keep us updated on how they are doing.

Your words are very inspiring.
I never thought geese could manage ducks like that.
I had a second goose that look just like her, but was gray. Her name was Arya, but sadly a raccoon got her. I threw her in a basket and rushed her to the vets, but the damage was too extensive, and I held her in my arms for an hour, while the shot took affect to humanely euthanize her.
How many ducks and geese do you have?
I gave them a full bowl of feed today and placed grit beside it.
Is there a brand of duck food that you prefer? Can my hens eat it to as they all share the run.

It's so sweet your goose has taken a liking to your new ducks. I have 1 goose now she is 11 yrs old came here at 4 months. My gander was hatched here he passed away in Feb 2021 at age 14. I have 13 ducks Muscovy and Runners and Buffs.
I am so sorry you lost your goose to a raccoon they are such awful predators.
Since I have 12 chickens also I feed poultry food. I buy Nature Crest NON GMO mine all eat out of the same bowls so I can't buy just waterfowl feed. Just a few pictures.

What a cool run. I never dreamed of adding rocks. Wow. Your kids are GORGEOUS

It's a wood-framed coop with screen[hardware cloth] door on the front and side and lots of windows.
We live in the mountains of western NC. How about you?
Is it cold in the winter?
I live in Virginia near Manassas. The birds have a wooden house with a side hatch door to the yard it look like a mini barn. Sliding door in front. Good ventilation in the eaves - it can’t be that open as it freezes here in the winter.

It gets very cold here in winter the windows are closed except the south they stay open some from the top ventilation is very important even in winter. There is ventilation around the eves in my coops too. The 2 doors used to have wooden doors up too but they opened to the inside and I just didn't like that setup so I cover with heavy plastic in winter.
This past winter we didn't get much snow so ice wasn't a problem since we live on the north side of the mountain when we get snow it turns to ice and stays forever really makes it hard on all of us. lol
