Hi guys,

Im not 100% sure what to look for in fertile eggs. I mean i know you have to have a bullseye with a ring around it but im not sure if this has it. Thanks

Most welcome. It sounds like you have patience, which is a rarity :)

Haha. My parents are usually telling me off for being impatient. But with chickens ive got a little. I just cant wait until i hopefully have some little chickies maybe this summer
:)

Hmmmm...probably fertile.
How old is your cockerel?
Have you seen him mount the hens?
I'm assuming that your hens are older than a year...or are they this years pullets?

My cockerel is young coming up for 5 months! I have not seen him mount the hens/pullets but I'm only here half the time! No crowing that ive heard either! Ive got 3 hens 1 year old and two pullets same age as cockerel one already laying!

Do you have an incubator or broody hen? I've had some eggs look similar and they turned out to be duds, but there's no harm in trying

At that age, I would be surprised if he is covering all of your girls effectively - possibly your pullets, but I would think that your older birds would not let him mate with them just yet - but who knows?
