The domestic chicken is a refugee from Tropical areas of Asia. I can assure you that the Tropical areas of Asia has plenty of Sunshine and thus there are areas of Asia that are very hot. Chickens do well in hot conditions with the possible exceptions of some breeds or strains that are only bred for people to look at. If your birds have plenty of shade thought out the day with plenty of fresh, pure, and clean water chickens will think that they have been beamed up and teleported back to their homeland in India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia, or the Philippines. A solidly roofed shipping pallet or 2 raised off the ground with soft Earth underneath will help mimic the old shotgun house of my child hood that was raised a foot or two off the ground and thus provided the perfect shady area for free range hens to loaf in or noon under.
