Is the spacing correct on this heat lamp?

I have some babies, and I have set them up in an extra large dog crate. I put cardboard around the sides to keep the pine shavings in. They are in my garage, and I have attached the heat lamp to an appliance mover for stability. Does this look too close to them, or too far away? Thanks, y'all!

Seems really close but I'd go by their behavior - they seem to be all sitting close to it so I guess they're fine with that. Can't see for sure, but I hope your lamp is attached by more than just the clamp - they can fail and drop the lamp, so best to also use the hanging loop in the back and possibly the cord to securely keep it in place.

I used a cable tie to secure the clamp to the appliance dolly. They seem to be moving around the cage, and staying close to the light. However, they're not all huddled together so I think the temp is ok? Thanks!
