I have 4 pullets and just got 2 hens last Saturday. The 2 hens were kept with roosters. I am wondering if there is an easy way to tell if the eggs I am getting from the hens are fertile. The eggs that the hens are laying have a few spots on the outside that almost looks like a little bit of blood. Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions, I really appreciate it.

Those spots have nothing to do with fertility. The way you tell is when you crack an egg into a plate, look at the white spot, called a blastodisc if it isnt fertile or blastoderm if it is. Sometimes you have to gently turn the yolk over with a spoon to see it. If it looks like a white speck, it's infertile, but if it has a ring around it like a bullseye, it is fertilized.

Thanks, Speckled! I was wondering the same thing myself.
