Not just 5 little sticks of a needle. 5 full doses of novacaine. I could feel it under the skin with the last two when it made a bubble in the tissues. Eeek! The last one he put into the open tooth when I started shaking and nearly took the arms off his chair. Tastes bad when that stuff leaks on your tongue.

BellLisamo, I would say the root canal is worse cause it takes so long. My wisdom teeth popped right out. Never had to take pain meds. Never had to take them for a root canal either. I should add that I am a major crybaby too. That's why I LOVE my dentist, he's very good and he's quick too. MissPrissy, maybe you need a gentler dentist?

He is a great dentist. The amount of liquid forced into the immediate area is what has left it sore and painful.

Miss Prissy needs a new dentist who is up to date imo. You should NEVER have to feel pain in the dentist's chair.

Did you read what I wrote? I am very hard to numb. It takes a lot. I cannot fault the dentist. Even though I hate dentists. My mouth is very sore. If someone was in your jaw up to his elbows in your very back molar with iextra njections that your mouth wouldn't be sore? It wasn't a lovely walk through the cleaning department. It was is a huge molar that needed a root canal and a crown.
