Is there a difference between Heritage and Production Black Australorps?

I have Heritage RIR (who refuse to lay eggs). I also have some Black Australorps from Ideal Poultry. The internet seems to infer there is a difference between production and heritage Australorps but I can't find that difference. Is it the same as Heritage vs. Production RIR? Someone told me the old Australorps lay in the winter but the new ones don't...or maybe I have that backwards. Does anyone know how to find the heritage ones that came from the old stock?

There is a difference between heritage and hatchery australorps, but I believe it’s more subtle than the difference between heritage and hatchery RIR.

There is a HUGE difference between Heritage RIR and Production RIR--mostly the productions birds are lighter and lay way more eggs. My Heritage RIR were very disappointing in their egg laying. However, I am not seeing where you can buy Heritage Black Australorps so I assume the ones that came from the hatcheries are the heritage ones cause that's the only ones available. Let me know if you find something different because I would love some heritage ones also--if they are good layers.
