Is there a limit to how many posts a person can make in one day?

I'm only asking because earlier tonight, I was chatting with some people in a few threads and tried to reply to one and got an error saying I couldn't post anymore until admin cleared the filter on my account.

I was a bit annoyed to say the least.. I was on a role and in a zone... trying to get some information.

I did notice that my post count was at 50 when I got stuck.

Admin PMed me a few minutes ago saying it was fixed. I PMed them back and asked what the problem was and if it was going to happen again, but I haven't gotten a reply.

Does anyone know?

When you first join there is until you've met a certain number of posts/days of being a member. It keeps people from making false accounts and spamming the group. It is fairly standard for most groups.

So it wasn't a problem that was fixed.... it's a rule of the site. Would be nice to know the rules beforehand.

I'm on a handful of forums, horses, gardening, parrots... and have never run into this on any of them. Which is fine... all sites are different. But, as I said, it would have been nice to know.

Thank you very much for your reply. :) And for clearing this up for me!

I've went back over the terms of service, and I didn't see anything referring to limited posting. I knew in the beginning when I first made my account that my first post would have to be approved before it was posted... but nothing about once I was actually active.

Do you know if it will happen again? I'm assuming 50 was a cut off? Are there more, the higher your post count gets?

Glad you posted here!

It shouldn't happen again. :)

The short version: We have some limits in place for new members to help us control spam. We just had to make a tweak on your account to make sure our system didn't block your posts.

Thanks for being a great (new) member of our awesome community!!
