Is there a serama site that...

Genetics of the Fowl, while interesting, is rather outdated in some areas

Hi! Any things you would point out that have been outdated?
I'm sure all of us trying to understand would appreciate not being steered in the wrong direction.
Thanks!

Blimey.....quite a lot has changed in the last 50 years. Off the top of my head, the understanding of e-alleles & columbian have changed a good deal since then. If my memory serves they used to think columbian was allelic to e. The secondary pattern genes, they used to think there were separate genes for lacing, autosomal barring, spangling etc.

see chickencolours.com for "the" chicken genetics book and some genetics articles also about seramas.

The author of the book is a Serama specialist and a genetics freak.

Search the-coop for contributions of user Sigi with keyword serama.

Thanks Henk - I've really been going back and forth on which books to buy on a very tight budget.

But since I'm seeing all these colors I've never seen or dealt with before I have to get more into it.
