Is there a such thing as a non-aggressive broody hen?

Mine was not aggressive to me or the other hens until after the hatch. Even then she only pecked me once. She goes after any hen that gets too close to her chicks though.

Meaning she's been sitting a nest most the day and all night for 2-3-4 days running?

She will sit on the nest normally in the afternoon after there are eggs laid.

If she's not on the nest most the day and all night she's probably not broody.

She just gets on when there are eggs. Normally later in the day

Oh okay! I don't really want the chicks just the eggs so I just get her off!
