Hello all! I'm a fairly new member of BYC and extremely new to chickens. I have 13 - chicks that we got about 4 weeks ago. We bought them from a local feed store and told they were Silver Laced Wyandottes and Americaunas (although, I think one of them looks like a turkey) :)

Thanks to everyone for all your wonderful posts and pictures. I use the BYC site daily. I plan to build a large permanent coop within the next few weeks and will be using ideas found here.

I can see the one you're referring to, but at 4 weeks I would expect it to be quite a bit bigger than the chicks. Its possibly a different breed than any of the others? By it stance, perhaps a roo. If you can get a close-up shot of it, particularly the head, it will be easier to tell.

Oh my! A rooster? I never even thought about that. I will definitely try to get a close up of his/her head - they are awfully quick and very camera shy :)
