Is there a way to filter out the "games, jokes, and fun" posts?

If I get a gold feather membership, is there a way to filter out all the role playing and games posts? They're always popping up in the "new threads" area because there are always so many new replies. I can see how some people like those, but if there's a way to not have to sift through them all I'd be grateful.
