This is in a showgirl chick now 12 days old. She is darling, but had curled toes and spraddle leg.
In taping the spraddle leg, the leg that was backward slipped a tendon and I didnt realize thats a common thing, didnt understand what was happening and why her foot went paralyzed and got progressively more bent to the side.
Now her hock is terribly swollen and the tendon is all the way to the front. I have been working most of the days outside the house so havent had time to attend to her as much as I normally would have, or I would have read up sooner and known what to possibly do.
She has had the slipped tendom probably 5 days now? Is there ANY hope of fixing it at this point and how does one fix it with that stupid hock swollen so badly? I am crying my eyes out, I know I will most likely have to cull her but if any hope at all, I will give her a chance. I put her in a sling two nights ago hoping the hock swelling would go down but if anything its worse.
Little Topknot
This was yesterday, I took her outside, if you look closely you can see how the leg bends outward from her body
Her hock
The sling I made two nights ago when I finally read up and realized what was going on.
And how cute she is
