For the most part I definitely agree with not handling him. I want him to feel in control of his ladies and able to protect them. That's why I was asking for advice. I don't need him to be a snuggle buddy, just civil towards the hand that feeds him.I am glad he is being a better boy. No one’s got time for a jerk.
Just to clarify though, I think most people will tell you that you should be hands off with your cock/eral, probably all male birds for that matter. From everything I’ve read, I think the male of any species is supposed to be left well enough alone, except for the domesticated human male, that is!I completely understand where they are coming from, however, it is important to ME to be able to interact with my males the way I do my females. These are just my feelings. Even though I don’t have interaction with some of my flightier girls, I DO want to be able to pick up and love on my boys. It’s just me!
I’m glad things are going better for you.
A little background, we are a former dairy farm family and used bulls to breed our cows. Once they got to a point that we didn't feel safe moving them around they were gotten rid of. So if he gets to a point that I feel unsafe around him he will find himself in a stew pot.
