Is there any hope???

He is gorgeous btw. My Lav Orp got a little testy at this age too tbh but I actually later figured out it was mostly my shoes 😂 when I took that pair off he stopped. Maybe you are wearing something he doesn’t like or something new/different? 🤔
Could be the fact that I have to bundle up more being winter. There is definitely one pair of pants that he hates on me My own personal fashion police 😂

They can be quite funny what they hate or not! For me it was my purple Crocs! 😂🤣 I threw them across the yard one day when he wouldn’t stop attacking my foot and he ran after them 😂🤣🤷‍♀️ Fashion police for sure 😂

They can be quite sensitive to changes like even one new piece of clothing or whatever.

liability isn't at the top of my list.
It’s not just company that you need to be worried for, but yourself as well. Please do not underestimate the power behind those legs and feet, with little scalpels on the tips of his toes. I’ve never been terribly injured by any chicken, roo or hen, but I do have my fair share of battle scars from accidental scratchings AND hardware cloth.
Often cockerels raised in a mixed age flock, having adult roosters and hens, will grow up to be more 'civilized'. Cockerels raised with only pullets of the same age will miss those humbling experiences they get from adults.
Even just starting out with no adult rooster, the older hens will put the fear of God in any new cockerel. I do not like to see any scraping at all between chickens, but I do find it quite interesting to watch the hens teach a young cockerel the what fors! ;)
The best roosters for flock management are raised in a multi-generational flock.
This is the absolute gospel and one I learned the hard way. Bad cockerels abound with same age pullets. Try another cockerel a year later and watch your hens raise him right.

I adopted a homeless Silkie (or Silkie x Cochin) this summer. Turned out to be a Rooster. Every time he sees me he runs to me as fast as he can. He is super lovable and has never acted defensive. I think he runs to me because he is always looking for what yummys I might be bringing. But, my friend said I should never turn my back on him because one day that run will turn into an attack. Could this be true?

Yes, this might be early attack mode, so beware! I don't hand feed anyone out there, when I'm bringing goodies, they get tossed on the ground.
I talk, and walk through the birds, they need to respect my space.
One of my one year old roosters developed an interest in running towards me this summer, and when I'd look at him, he'd peck at the ground or move away, all 'innocent' behaviors. fairly recently he finally got up the nerve to nail me from behind, in my leg, and flared at me when I faced him. Very bad decision on his part! He departed the next morning. And my tetanus vaccine is always up to date! We still have one adult rooster and six cockerels, all thinking good thoughts all the time. So far...
