I am so glad your sweet girl came back, I just wanted to say we recently lost 3 hens to a neighbor's dog. Please, please watch out for that dog....this one now knows where we live and won't stay away from our hens, trying to kill them. It has caused a massive rift with our neighbors who won't lock their dog up, and tomorrow animal control is headed over to take their dog away from them. Again, I am so, SO glad she came back to you

Yay! Glad you got Martha back.

I had my rooster go missing at night and I was heartbroken then I heard him crowing around 5:30 in the morning. I went stumbling out in the dark calling "HOSS!" a Hallmark moment for sure.

But this might not be the ending with your neighbor's dog if this was the first time it had ever chased your chickens. As a lot of the dog -as- predator posts note the first time is normally not the last time.
