Is there any plant chickens won't eat in run?

My chickens loved comfrey.

I'm planting some again, protected by its own wire hoop so they can munch on it through the wire without eating it to the ground.

I have two huge rosemary bushes that our chickens won't touch. They often get underneath them for shade!! These two plants are outside of the run and in our yard.

yea smartweed. Garden is overrun with it and they won't touch it.
seriously though mine don't mess with my lantana or azealas much when they are out in the yard except to nest or lay under. We've been having a fair bit of rain lately and they discovered that the azaleas next to the house have dry dirt there so they've made a new dust bath spot. Not sure if either of these grow in your area though. They also don't seem to mess with the ginger. keep in mind that they only have access to these when they are out and about with lots of other stuff in the yard so it could be that these are just not first choice stuffs. What ever you do you will need to protect the roots at least until it is established. But that can be something as simple as some heavy weed block cloth anchored tightly. I tend to be a bit shy about a pile of rocks cause it makes great hiding places for snakes. Gravel or small stones now would be good.

I had volunteer acorn squash come up in the run (because the run was built around my old compost pile). The huge leaves made good shade for the little bantams to hide under (we have air-born predators) and none of them have pecked at the squash like I thought they might. Of course they did stomp on the vines and kill off one area, but not from pecking at it.
