Is there any reason I shouldn't worm a broody?

Since you are not supposed to eat eggs from a chicken who has dewormed for 15 days (or however long), is it okay to deworm a broody since she won't be laying anyway? Or a new mama hen that is raising chicks, also not laying? I thought I'd ask to be safe bc who knows...there might be some blatently obvious reason not to that isn't occuring to me...happens more than I'd like to admit ; )

Also, at what age should a chicken FIRST be dewormed?

Thanks!

I dont see any reason why you cant worm a broody, no problem. Chicks can be wormed at 12 weeks old. I usually wait til the 8-10th month depending if there's been alot of rain or not.
