Is there any way?!?!??

Is there any way to tell if the egg is going to hatch into a male or female? Or at least increase the chance? I heard that if the temp is kept at 0.5 degrees lower, it will hatch into a female, and if it is 0,5 degrees higher, it will hatch into a male. But I personally don't think this is true.

To bad it doesn't work. I know in reptiles(geckos especially) temp has everything to do with sex. With proper control you can produce 95% female if that is what you wanted.

Any unwanted roosters we get go into the meat bird pen to be grown into meat birds.

I could never eat my birds. I love them so much. I will just have to hope for the best.

My eggs should be coming today.

I keep roosters for fertile eggs, never for meat. I only buy eggs in the winter, when my hens aren't laying. But I just started getting eggs again! I will start incubating my own now... LOL.

How is that possible? I didn't even think it was. I just want to have mostly pullets in my hatches, if not all.

I don't know the science on geckos but it works.I hatched 15 leopard geckos at the lowest recommended temp aiming for more females and got 14 girls. the one boy never would breed and showed female behaviors, a pro breeder I contacted knew immediately what was wrong and called him a "cold male".

No not chickens.I wish. That would make things way easier dealing with roos if we got mostly hens.
