Yes, you have to decapitate the whole strawberries and only offer the tops with some fragments of berry attached, first. Having killed the Mad, Rampaging Strawberries, the tops are the appetizers and the berries can be tossed to the Brave Baby Roos.

I know this because I had to do it just yesterday!!
