Is there anything similar to Marek's?

Interesting, if it is a new strain, would it come up if one got them tested?

If it is Mareks, I guess it will show up again eventually?
Who knows… when you think about how diseases work it might not show as mearks.. like take covid for example while every strain is covid they all have different names (delta, omnicron etc) what makes chicken illness any different

I wouldn’t rule out Marek’s if you’re experiencing a lot of “unknown” deaths.
I never rule it out… but there’s always 1 or 2 symptoms that just don’t add up… like how a perfectly healthy chicken who I’ve had for 2yrs hasn’t been around any new flock members suddenly gets sick with Mareks like symptoms… appears to get better after a week of antibiotics and isolation and then just crashes and passes away with no reasoning… there’s something new out there… it’s just a matter I’ve working out what..

That sounds like it could be Marek’s to me. It doesn’t only affect young birds. I have personally experienced it affecting chickens who are 2 years old or older. Chickens can recover from the symptoms of Marek’s but will almost always relapse later.
