Is there anyway ( TSC ?)

Thanks for the idea of asking some else getting some..

I have to go get horse food tomorrow morning so hopefully they will either let me get just one..I do have the receipt or someone will be there getting some chicks.

I won't wait around for someone to come in and buy some though. I avoid going to TSC by myself, and by myself I mean with just my 9mnth old twins and 3yr old ( no DH no older kids to give me a hand..

My friend bought 6 chicks and that weekend lost 3 of the 6 . She called tsc and they told her to bring in her reciept and she could buy 3 banty chicks. Its worth a shot

I needed that. I remember going to a bar with a couple of friends. I was 15 at the time. I ordered my beer like I had drank it all my life.

Some will do it. I have been considering just getting the 6 and selling 3-4 when they are older.

If I end up with a bunch of roo's I will have to get rid of some anyways so if they won't sell me just 1 or 2 I may have to go ahead and get the 6 and just see what happens..

I was told by our TSC's manager that the 6-chick minimum is across the board for all TSCs, partly because some states have regulations about the minimum number of livestock types that can be sold and also because they wish to prevent John and Mary Child-Spoiler from just buying a couple of chicks for their pampered kids, especially around Easter time, just to discard the chicks when they're no longer cute.

He also noted that it's up to each TSC to enforce the minimum, and from what I've seen here there apparently are TSCs where this isn't enforced.

I've bought one chick twice so far, one an adorable Dutch Booted Bantam and one a chick that needed rescuing due to injury. The first time, they asked to see my receipt. Instead, I showed them photos of my chicks that I had on my phone. They know me pretty well now. It never hurts to ask, even if you don't have a receipt. But loitering outside and hoping someone will get you a chick/beer/cigarettes might get you noting but really odd looks and people calling you a crazy chicken lady!
